A Burst of Colour for the ELC

The past couple of weeks have seen many changes to the Early Learning Centre. The side panels have been painted providing an eye-catching welcome to the building.

The final touches have been planned for the nature playground to include climbing frames, rope tangle structures, varied levelled stepping blocks, multi-layered cubby areas, fossil discovery zones, and water pumps. The playground will be made primarily from wood, stone, and sand materials.

Appointment times are available for purchasing student uniforms. Please contact the College if you still require an appointment.

We are looking forward to the parent information morning tea being held on Friday 6 December at 9:30am.

Latest on the ELC

The Early Learning Centre continues to take shape as the feature wall inserts are being installed and latest additions to the roof are made. Student enrolments are well underway for the Early Learning classes with placements still available for 3 Year-old Kindergarten, Pre-Primary, Year One and Year Two.

Discussions relating to the playground are inspiring as we attempt to develop a nature based play space that will encourage the children to explore, inquire, investigate, wonder and most importantly have fun. Furniture is being selected to promote collaborative learning, creative play spaces, individual quite areas and whole class interaction.

EARLY LEARNING AT HCC

We welcome Ms Melissa Croswell as the foundation Head of Junior School at Holy Cross College.  She brings with her a wealth of experience from schools and also as a Curriculum Consultant at the Catholic Education Office.  Ms Croswell has now commenced at HCC and is playing a key role in the establishment of the new Early Learning Centre.

We are looking forward to welcoming children from Kindergarten - Year 2 to Holy Cross College in 2014.   We are currently working on designing the learning programme and  investigating social skills programmes.  Our newly appointed teachers will be closely involved in curriculum planning during this term in preparation for classes commencing in February.  The roof is going on and the walls are going up on the new building and  it is going to be a great space for learning for our youngest students.   The uniforms arrived last week and we are excited very about seeing the little ones fitted out as HCC students.

We look forward to welcoming parents and students to morning tea on Friday 6 December.
